I received a "SMTP error from remote mail server relay access denied" email. What is this? Print

You may have sent an email message recently and afterwards received the following message:-

"Host SMTP error from remote mail server after RCPT
554 5.7.1. Relay access denied"

This can occur in the following situations:-

1. You are trying to send an email message from an email account that you have not created yet with your external email provider or
2. You are trying to send an email message from an email account that exists however your email client has the wrong email account settings in place or
3. Your MX DNS record is not correct for the domain name affected

In any case to resolve this error message you should contact your email service provider for assistance with the setup and use of your email account provided by them.
