Transfer your Domain Name to Us

No absolutely not. All of your domain name settings are preserved during and after the domain name transfer. Please ensure that your existing domain name settings, such as your nameservers and DNS entries are current and accurate before beginning the transfer.

In order to receive the 1 year renewal please ensure the following applies to you:-

• If your domain recently expired and you renewed it, wait 46 days before beginning the transfer. If you transfer a domain before then, an additional year will not be added to its expiration date, and you will still be charged a transfer fee.
• If your domain extension when transferred in, will only renew if it is 90 days or less from its expiration date.

Domain name transfers typically take a few hours to complete. In some cases it can take several days.

Before starting a transfer with us you or your existing domain name supplier should prepare your domain name for transfer by doing the following:

• Unlock the domain name
• If your domain name ends with .UK set the IPS Tag to ENOM
• If your domain name does not end with .UK, you will need to generate an EPP code also known as an authorisation code.

Once you have done these steps you can use our domain transfer tool above to start a transfer.

The EPP code is an authorisation key provided by your existing domain name supplier, in conjunction with unlocking your domain name, allows you to securely transfer your domain name from your current supplier across to ourselves using the Domain transfer tool above.

if your domain names  is ending with .UK it should be noted that EPP codes are not required and you should refer to the What is an IPS tag? article.

An IPS Tag is used specifically with domain names ending with .UK and indicates which registrar company currently administers your .UK domain name.

If you wish to transfer your .UK domain name to ourselves you would ask your existing domain name supplier to :

• Unlock your .UK domain name
• Change its IPS Tag to ENOM

Then you can:
